#1   Beta Alg Biotechnology has been awarded by European Innovation Technology (EIT) and entered Stage 2 of the MED ClimAccelerator in 2022 Malta.

EIT Climate -KIC is the biggest network of cleantech and sustainability companies and institutions inside the EU, funded by EIT and Horizon EUROPE. It has been locally implemented by Malta Collage of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) in Malta to empower innovative start-ups and facilitate the adoption of circular economies and green technologies to tackle climate change.

#2   Development of astaxanthin loaded nanofiber cosmetic face mask

The project is committed to develop an anti-aging and therapeutic face mask for cosmetic purposes, based on natural astaxanthin loaded into a nanofiber platform. Using an innovative approach, we aim to develop applicable and easy scale up encapsulating systems enabling high releasing of astaxanthin from the nanofiber mask platform into the skin with a high absorbtion efficiency.

Project Title: Astaxanthin based biomedical cosmetic product development

Supported by: Turkish Scientific and Technical Research (TÜBİTAK)

#3   Production of animal forage and astaxanthin pigment from Haematococcus pluvialis

The project was developed to investigate artificial light requirements of H. pluvialis. A dynamic light regime based on different LED light spectrum was used as a manipulation technique for higher yield of astaxanthin production from indoor industrial algae cultivation.

#4   Enhancement of production yield from Haematococcus pluvialis by mutagenesis

The aim of the project is to generate fast growth and higher astaxanthin accumulated mutagenic lines of H. pluvialis. The successful mutant lines will be analyzed in order to reveal genetic baseline of cell cycle and molecular pathways of the secondary metabolites effecting culture growth and astaxanthin biosynthesis.

Project Title: Enhancement of production yield from Haematococcus pluvialis by muthagenesis
